The unity candle enhancement involves symbolically passing the light of love and wisdom, through the generations to the new couple/family.
Individual candles are lit by family members. Then the couple each take a light from their family candles, and together light a central unity candle, thereby uniting their lives and enfolding their new unity in the warmth of their family’s love.
